Caring
is Sharing
Caring is Sharing Our Resources
The Temple
Sinai Caring Community intends to use the skills and abilities of
our Temple members to good advantage, while making it possible for
us to reach out Yad b'Yad, Hand in Hand. In order to help families
who suffer through some heartbreaking, life changing events, we are
starting a network service within our congregation so individuals
may access support within our own caring community.
For those in
our congregation who are experiencing a difficult situation or
difficult time, we encourage you to speak with other members who
have experienced or are experiencing similar problems, such as
divorce or illness or recent loss. It is always helpful to be able
to talk to others. By calling the Temple telephone number
(860-561-1055) and transferring to extension 36, you will be able to
leave a confidential message. If Joyce is in the office (9am-2pm),
you can ask her to transfer you to extension 36. If the message
machine answers, then dial 36 and you will go directly to the voice
mail.
You can, of
course, always contact the Rabbi and you are encouraged to do so.
But this extension, 36, will be checked by the coordinator of the
mitzvah committee. She is the only person who will check the
messages and help to connect the caller with someone in the
congregation. Confidentiality is always observed.
An open door is
always available. We encourage you to reach out and allow others to
reach out to you. Experiencing difficulties in isolation can be
doubly trying. Yad b’Yad, Hand in Hand, we will walk the road
together.

To be part of a Network of Support...
The Caring Community of Temple Sinai is establishing a
network of support for congregants who are experiencing
personal difficulties. The mitzvah committee chairperson will
be helping to connect those who need support with congregants
who have, or have had, similar experiences. We need your help.
If you can help to give support to a fellow
congregant in any area, whether it is divorce, illness, loss,
or other difficulties, please call and leave a confidential
message on extension 36 at the Temple office. Just call the
Temple at 860-561-1055 and asked to be transferred to
extension 36 or if no one is in the office, when you hear the
Temple message, just dial 36.
We thank you in advance for stepping forward and helping
those who are in pain. It is a mitzvah in our tradition to
reach out and help others. |
